Final Thoughts on THE WILD WOODS

1. What did I learn in this project:

-going from paper-prototype to digital was critical to understand the format and placing of objects for the piece
-having contrasting elements helped balanced this project like having images equally spread out among the whole as well as having informational charts to go with the facts
-figuring out hierarchy with more information was at first the difficult with having so much information to process, but having a unity of font sizes being strictly used in areas that are common would be applied, giving a level of read
-having a 'design device' helped with indicating the direction for the viewers eye to follow the lines to a key a point
-how to eliminate distortion and ambiguity of labeling
-how having an object to be a stand in like an indication of a map in the background to give another connotation like how the colors play a role
-also finding the right title to indicate the icons as well as the information provided on the map

2. What could I address differently:

-refining the additional placement of the map figure to equally look nice and complete
-I could always address color choices as a whole if I was wanting to give a different connotation
-Also play layout more again
